Havnnes, or Hamnnes in traditional pronunciation (Kven: Karkko 'ør; skjær; flat sandstrekning, Northern Sami: Gárgu 'grunne, strand'), is an old trading post situated in Nordreisa municipality in Troms, Norway. The location, found at the southern tip of Uløya, is the northernmost preserved trading post in Norway that is still operational. It has approximately fifty residents.
Halibut can grow to over 300kg, but they are a good food fish and the most common catch is around 10-50kg. Even a 20kg halibut will take a tireless angler used to pike and salmon to a new level, with raw power at the end of the line. The lucky ones may see porpoises, white-tailed eagles or even whales during the day. Between August and September the Northern Lights may also light up the sky.
The day trip is led by our experienced Finnish guide, who will be in charge of the skipper and advise you on everything you need to know while on the boat. You or your group need have no previous boating or fishing experience. We have the equipment and the skills to find the fish.
